Young people in Medway can now access new sexual health clinic
|
Sexual Health Services in Medway have expanded this month and are now offering young people in Chatham more services, delivered in a modern facility. Young people can now access a weekly drop in session every Friday from 2.00pm to 4.30pm at Medway Youth Trust’s Connexions Centre, 205-207 New Road, Chatham, ME4 4QA. Fully qualified nurses will be on site to provide free, confidential advice on contraception and sexual health. The clinic at New Road is also a C Card access point, and offers Chlamydia screening and pregnancy testing. Ruth Herron, Head of Sexual Health Services for Kent Community Health NHS Trust said, “We are really pleased to announce the opening of a new sexual health clinic for young people in Chatham. Through working closely with Medway Youth Trust and Medway Council we are able to provide great services to teenagers in their own environment.” Medway Youth Trust Manager Nadia Shalan said, “Medway Youth Trust is an organisation dedicated to supporting young people in our community. Our partnership with Kent Community Health means teenagers can drop in and speak to a trained nurse about any concerns they may have in a setting they trust.” To find out more about sexual health services in Medway go to: http://www.medwaysexualhealth.co.uk/.
