Contraceptive and Sexual Health Services expanded

Contraceptive and Sexual Health Clinics have been expanded in Medway to offer greater access in modern facilities.

Clinics will now be provided from Keystone and Twydall Health Centres; and Rochester, Parkwood, Balmoral Gardens and Lordswood Healthy Living Centres, which are replacing the outdated Elm House Clinic.

The last Contraceptive and Sexual Health Clinics at Elm House Clinic, Chatham were held this Wednesday (23 November 2011).

Katie Morgan, Contraceptive and Sexual Health Manager said:

“Contraception and Sexual Health services are now going to be provided in better facilities in four more locations in Medway. Young Person’s Walk-In services, including Chlamydia testing and contraception are also being expanded and will be available at Rochester, Balmoral Gardens and Twydall, which is good news for the young people of Medway.

This move is the result of a wider consultation to ensure community services delivered from Elm House, Chatham and Kings Road Clinic, Luton were moved into more suitable accommodation. The two buildings are outdated and do not meet disability and energy requirements.
