C Card
What is it?
C Card gets you free condoms at selected outlets. It's for guys and for girls aged 13 to 19 years, whether you're having sex or just thinking about it.

Why use it?
- Free card, free condoms
- No appointment necessary
- Confidential
- Available to all under 19s, whatever your sexuality
How can you get a C Card?
- Drop into one of the C Card registration sites listed below
- Chat with one of the trained workers. They will explain how the C Card works and where you can use it. They will also give you some useful advice about safe sex, relationships and where you can access other services, like emergency contraception and testing for STIs
- When a C Card worker is happy with your knowledge, you will be given your C Card on the spot - it is credit card sized and has a number unique to you. There is no need to give your address, the card does not contain personal information and only allows you to get free condoms when you visit an access site
- Choose your condoms and lubes from the C Card range
- Your C Card will be full after you use it ten times. You'll then need to see a trained worker again just to make sure everything is ok, catch up on any latest advice, and pick up a new C Card
What's the difference between a registration and an access site?
Registration sites are places where you sign up to the C Card scheme. You chat with a C Card worker and are given free condoms when you've signed-up. These sites also offer information and advice on other sexual health services, like testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including Chlamydia and emergency contraception.
Access sites give you condoms when you show your C Card. This will be done in a private area, away from other people to protect your confidentiality. To use these sites you must be registered with the scheme. You cannot register for the scheme at access points.
What if you lose the card?
If you lose your C Card you will have to get a new one from a trained worker at one of the C Card outlets - so keep it safe.

What if I am under 16?
The law says that you are not allowed to have sex under the age of 16. However, some people start sexual relationships before this age. Some people may also want to practice putting on a condom on their own before the have sex for the first time.
If you're under 16 you can still access free and confidential support or services as long as the C Card worker believes that you are capable of understanding the information provided to you.
What if I am under 13?
If you are under 13, a C Card worker cannot give you condoms. However, you can still chat with them and they can tell you where you can go to access confidential Contraceptive and Sexual Health Services.
